சத்தியமாய் வாக்களிக்கும்
ஈஸ்வரன் மகனை
அருணகிரி போற்றும்          5

விளக்கம் :

1. வனத்தில் இரை தேடி அலைந்த ஒரு வேடனை இறையை தேட வைத்தது,

அதனை மற்றவருக்கு விளக்கக் கூடிய ஒரு காவியம் படைக்கும்

அளவிற்கு ஆளாக்கியது மரத்தினடி தவமே. 

2. வன்னி மரக்காட்டில் அமர்ந்து தவம் இயற்றியதால் தான் வேடனாக இருந்து 

கவி முனிவரானவர் அந்த வன்னி மரத்தினால் தான் "வான்மீகி" என்று பெயர்

பெற்றார். இங்கும் அருள் பாலிக்கும் சிவ பெருமானுக்கும் "வன்மீக நாதர்" என்ற

பெயருள்ளது.

3.  பிரபஞ்சத்தின் முதல் யோகி ஆகிய சிவன் எதனை
குறித்து தவம் செய்தார் ?  படைப்பின் காரணம் என்ன ?
அவர் உலகத்தினை படைக்க எந்த மந்திரத்தை 

கூறினார் என்கிற கேள்விகளுக்கு பதிலாக அவர்
தவத்தில் உச்சரித்த மந்திரம் "ராம" என்ற புனித
ஒலியே ஆகும். ராமன் என்கிற மனித உருவம் தாங்கிய
கடவுளின் அவதாரம் தோன்றுவதறகு பல ஆயிரம்
ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பாகவே சிவனின் இந்த தவம்
நடைபெற்று வந்திருக்கிறது. "ராம" என்ற புனித ஒலியை அதன் பூரண மகிமையை

உலகத்தோற்கு உணர்த்தவே அந்த ஒலியின் மேன்மையை முழுவதுமாக
வெளிப்படுத்த இராமவதாரம் நடைபெற்றது.  "ராம" என்ற மந்திரத்தை "மரா"
என்றே நாரத முனிவர் வேடருக்கு உபதேசிக்கிறார்.  மரா என்று மரம் என்ற புனித
சொல்லின் தன்மையை திரும்ப திரும்ப உச்சரித்து அந்த வேடுவர் மாமுனிவராகிறார்.
அதனை ஒரு கவிஞன் காவியமாக்க வேண்டும் என்றால் முனிவன் அந்த ஒலியின்
புனிதத்தை உணர அவன் ஒரு மரத்தின் அடியில் அமர வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால் கடவுளின்
 இயற்கையின் மனிதனைக் காட்டிலுமே மிக உன்னத படைப்பு மரமே ஆகும்.  ஏனென்றால்
 தன் வாழ் நாளில் தான் மட்டும் வாழாமல் பிற உயிர்களையும் வாழ வைக்கும் உன்னத
உயிரினம் மரமே.

அதுவும் பனை மரங்கள் பிற மரங்களையே தன்னுள்ளே வளர்க்கவும் செய்கின்றன.

அத்தகைய ஒரு அற்புத மரம் தான் வன்னி மரம். 

மரத்தின் அடியில் தன்னை உணரும் தவம் இயற்றும் போது அந்த மரமே குருவாக

இருந்து பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அனைத்து தருமங்களையும் உணர்த்தும் என்பதன் வெளிப்பாடே

வான்மீகி முனிவரின் உருவாக்கமும் அவரின் மகா காவியமான இராமயணமும்.

4. ஆலகால நஞ்சை இறைவன் அருந்தும் போது அவர் நாக்கு கசந்திருக்கும். அவர் 

அந்த நிலையில் நாவினிக்க ராம நாமத்தை அவர் உறைத்திருப்பார் என்று இந்த மனித

மனம் நம்புகிறது.  

5. அருள்மிகு மருந்தீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயிலில் அன்னை திரிபுரசுந்தரியாக அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

"திருப்புகழ் " இயற்றிய அருணகிரிநாதர் மருந்தீஸ்வரர் கோவில் குடி கொண்டிருக்கும்

முருகப் பெருமானையும் தனது "குசமாகி ஆருமலை" என்ற பாடலில் " திருவான்மியூர் மருவு 

பெருமாளே " என்று பாடியுள்ளார். 

சென்னையின் முக்கியமான பகுதியாக இருக்கும் கிழக்கு கடற்கரை 

சாலையில் இன்றும் "திருவான்மீயூர்" இருக்கிறது. இங்கு மருந்தீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயில்

உள்ள தல மரமான மரத்தினடியில் தான் வால்மீகி முனிவர் ஞானம் பெற்றார்.

இராமயணம் என்ற மாபெரும் காவியத்தையும் இயற்றியுள்ளார்.  முனிவரின் ஆசிரமம்,

இன்றைய சென்னையின் முக்கியமான பகுதியான கோயம்பேட்டில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

இங்கிருந்த ஆசிரமத்தில் தான் சீதாபிராட்டி தனது புதல்வர்களான இலவ, குசன் இருவரையும்

ஈன்றுள்ளார் என்பது வரலாறு.

Whole of Bharath knows Rama was born at Ayodhya.

But many are not aware about the birthplace of Ramayana.

It will be very strange to know for many Indians to acknowledge

that the present day Chennai City is the Birth Place of this great

epic. This southern city of India houses the Place of Penance 

and ashram of the Sage Valmiki. The Place of his penance is now

inside the Temple of Siva, Marundheeswarar ( Lord of Medicines)

& his ashram is still the most happening pace in Chennai, where,

its present Central Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) is located, called

as Koyambedu. In this ashram only Lord Sita delivered her sons

Lava and Kusa. 

Sage Valmiki was a hunter by profession and he was hunting in

the forests full of Vanni trees (Rusty Acacia - Botanical , 

Shami - Samskritam, Khejri - Hindi).

 Here the Saint Narada guides the hunter to do penance

under the ever auspicious tree by invocating a mantra "mara" 

a reverse of "Rama" the mantra Lord Siva has been chanting 

forever.

Here the word "Mara" in Tamizh Language is most significant 

as it literally means "Tree" and its derivative word "Marai" means

the hidden truth or Veda. The ancestors of this great land 

worshipped the nature and realized that the trees are the most 

divine being and it is the real language of the universe. 

To signify the sacredness of the tree, Siva directed a hunter to

become a sage just by sitting under a tree on penance and 

acquire the world's highest knowledge by adopting tree as the 

Guru. Almost every Siva, Vishnu, Sakthi temples has been made

only in lush forests full of trees by the sages as every saint lived

here realized the ultimate wisdom only under a tree. So the trees

are the real source of Knowledge and they are the real gurus for

all the living beings. 

Trees absorb the Universe's energy and transmit for the well being

of every being. Trees just dont live for themselves, they live for 

giving lives to every being.

Long before the Avatar Shri Rama took birth, Lord Siva has been 

doing penance as the very 1st yogi in this universe and he condensed

 the essence of whole universe in two syllables "Ra""ma".

When Siva drank the poison to save every creature, his tongues might

have tasted the sour taste & to sweeten the tongue he took the sweetest

name, ever auspicious mantra.

In this temple, Goddess is called as Thiripura Sundari, most beautiful woman.

Even the saint from Thiruvannamalai , Arunagirinathar, who sang the hymns 

on Lord Muruga as "Thiru Pugazh" has sung about the Lord Muruga in this 
Marundheeswarar Temple, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.
